The Ulster County Arts Council’s mission is to be a leader in professional organization, support of artistic and cultural artists, organizations and events and endeavors in Ulster County that benefit both the residents and visitors to our area.

Our mission includes providing leadership in creating supportive and collaborative environments in which artists, art organizations and cultural venues can thrive increasing their outreach to the public.

Our mission is to foster the knowledge “That Art Means Business”. To educate community businesses, leaders and other organizations of the great economic potential and reality the Arts have in providing community re-vitalization and economic growth to any area in Ulster County.

Our mission is to increase the quality of life for residents and visitors to Ulster County through Artistic and Cultural venues, opportunities, events and the promotion of the Cultural diversity that is present in our community.

Our mission is to connect Ulster County Artists and Organizations, events and opportunities with other areas in the Hudson Valley and beyond.

We offer low cost workshops that help the artist or art organization and the public obtain skills to ensure successful ventures. We help to educate the artist to think in ways that are outside of the art world to help their Art Business be well developed with a distinct business plan that aides the artist to move forward both artistically and economically. We work with local and regional leaders to bring to light issues that are relevant to artists and the community. We work with Cultural Tourism to promote Ulster County as a culturally enriched area to attract both residents and visitors while promoting local artists and cultural events. We work with outside larger art organizations to promote artistic venues in Ulster County and to promote Ulster County artists and resources. We are working to promote Ulster County as a unique area that embraces its historical past that is so significant to its modern day life. We work with the community leaders to assist in the process of development that promotes cultural sensitivity and awareness. We work with educators to help promote the study of the arts and to provide artistic experiences for our youth that enhances their education. We are working to provide a future for Ulster County that is culturally and artistically enriched to increase the quality of life for both residents and visitors. We offer low cost Health Insurance to promote and support a healthy life style to help meet the personal needs of our members. We assist artists and organizations to connect with other areas of support and opportunity to serve not just the artistic side of our members, but the whole person, and their need to work, prosper and be healthy. We continue our slogan that "the arts mean business".
